Simple Habit Tracker

A simple habit tracker that fits on one screen

Virtue shows every habit and the last seven days in a single view. Tap today's square to check it off. Watch the streak grow. That is the whole app, and that is the point.

No subscription. No sign-up. Your data never leaves the phone.

What a simple habit tracker should do

Most habit apps grow until they need a tutorial. Virtue is built around the six things people actually use, and nothing else.

One screen, every habit

No dashboards, no tabs to dig through. Each habit is a row with the week underneath it. You see the whole picture in one glance, which is the part most trackers get wrong.

Tap the day, done

Checking off a habit is one tap on today's square. No confirmation, no note, no timer. The less it costs to log, the longer you keep logging.

Daily or a few times a week

Set a habit to every day or to three times a week. The streak counts the schedule you chose, so a rest day is not a broken chain.

Streaks you can see

A flame with a number next to each habit. Filled squares behind it. Your progress is a shape, not a statistic buried in a report.

A year on one screen

Open a habit and you get a 365-day heatmap, the current streak and your best streak. The whole year is a shape you can read in a second.

No account, no cloud

Nothing to sign up for. Your habits live on the phone and never leave it. Delete the app and the data goes with it.

What it looks like

Three screens, straight from the App Store listing. Dark by default because that is what the phone looks like at 10 pm, which is when most people check off their habits.

Frequently asked questions

Is Virtue really free?

Yes. There is no subscription, no paid tier and no ads. It is an indie app built by one developer who wanted a tracker that fits on a single screen.

Do I need to create an account?

No. The app works the moment you open it. Your habits are stored on the phone. There is no sync between devices yet, so if you need that, HabitKit or Streaks are better fits today.

Can I track a habit that is not every day?

Yes. When you add a habit you choose every day or a number of times per week. The streak follows the schedule you picked.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. Virtue is iPhone only. The tools and guides on this site work in any browser, and the printable tracker works on paper.

What is the difference between a habit tracker and a to-do list?

A to-do item is done once. A habit repeats, and the point is the pattern over weeks, not any single day. That is why a habit tracker shows a grid instead of a checklist.
